After his mother divorced Zastoupil in 1973, and received a misdiagnosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma, Tarantino was sent to live with his grandparents in Tennessee. Zastoupil encouraged Tarantino's love of movies, and accompanied him to numerous film screenings.
